Gratuitously American Apparel 2012

Most Americans do not want to fly American flags bearing Made in China labels, so why should we want to wear patriotic apparel on the Fourth of July that is not made in the U.S.? It seems a little sacrilegious to celebrate America’s independence in clothing that is not independently made in the U.S. It is no secret that the Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays, I’m a sucker for patriotic apparel. This year skip the cheap foreign-made Old Navy tees and opt for one of the articles of clothing below that is actually made in the U.S. While these items may appear to carry a loftier price tag than discount tees, the fashion world has seen a recent resurgence in Americana-pride – there is no need to sequester these looks to one day in July. Wear your red, white and blue heart on your sleeve all year long. Also, check out my picks from Fourth of July circa 2011 here and there are even more options here.
